Lets Scrap Sketches - Dec. 1st Sketch

Well here we are in December, so hard to believe this year is almost over with!!

It has been busy at the Carson house too...  traveling for Turkey Day, Black Friday shopping and decorating the house and still working on the outside decor as well!!.

I did find a little time over the holidays last week to get this layout completed for reveal.  As usual we have another awesome sketch up at Let's Scrap Sketches this week!! 

So this was another year of firsts in our family - my twin nephews graduated from Kindergarten and my oldest nephew graduated high school so my SIL has the fabulous pictures taken to celebrate the occasion!

Wow - sketch #301 at Sketches in Thyme!! And I love it!!!  AFter a week of being under the weather it was nice to get a little scrappiness going and who doesn't love kitties??

We used to be overrun with kitties at our house and I tend to bring more home than I should at time ;)
Right now we are down to one, Blaze, and Wonki belongs to my dad, Blackie was just passing through!!

This is such a versatile sketch and I love it!!

November 15th - Let's Scrap Sketches

So I am a little late with this post, no thanks to a dose of the crud going around.  Hard to believe we are so close to the end of the year and Thanksgiving is this coming week - where does the time go??!!

This is a fabulous sketch to work with and who doesn't want to think of the beach this time of year, when we are finally getting some cooler weather.





And in a effort to start using my stash, I found this fabulous paper by Simple Stories from their Summer Fresh line a few years ago, and I thought it worked great with these pictures.

Let's Scrap Nov 1st Sketch

Happy November everyone!!!  Hard to believe we are down to our last 2 months of the year!!

So today at Let's Scrap we have throwback sketch, which I still love!!  Can't go wrong with the hexagon shape!!

My SIL's mom gave me some pictures from their beach trip this past summer and they just worked well with this sketch.  And they aren't ball pictures!!  LOL

I also loving using scraps, that way I feel like I am really getting my money's worth out of my paper, these were from a Close To My Heart pack I had left over and I think they worked perfectly together.

At least I am not as late with this one as my last layout...  things have just been crazy in my life!!

This week over at Sketches in Thyme, we have a great single page sketch from Shawn Lahr!!  I just happened to have this great picture of some of best scrappy girlies that went right along with the paper that was just laying on my table waiting to be used.





As you can see, I am pretty loosely matching the sketch, and I am still not hapy with the one flower on the bottom, but I do love the bling accents and wish I would have printed my journaling instead of my messy handwriting - guess I see a redo coming up shortly ;)

I truly think I need to start carrying a planner... I can't seem to remember anything anymore!!

Finally back - Sketches in Thyme reveal #293

Well I finally made it back to blog land...  this has been a doozy of a year for me and I just can't seem to catch up on anything!!

I am back with a fabulous sketch for Sketches in Thyme #293 by the fabulous Sara and oh the things you could do with this sketch!!  I will definitely be using this one again!!



And finally a layout without my super cute nephews!!  I met up with some of my oldest and bestest friends in the world, we have know each other since about the 3rd grade, and even though we all live in different places we try to meet up when we can... and these pictures are from our latest meeting a couple months ago!!  And if you are ever in the Montgomery area be sure to stop by the landmark, Chris' Hot Dogs... you will not be disappointed!!

August 15th reveal - Let's Scrap

Wow - the middle of August already!!  I don't know about ya'll but it is HAWT here in Alabama - I am so looking forward to some cooler weather soon.

Here is the mid-month reveal over at Let's Scrap and it is a great sketch for back to school!!



And back to school is exactly what I used it for... these are some pics from the twins year of K5 or Kindergarten... first time for them to ever be in any type of school setting and it brought lots of tears throughout the year.  By year end though they both were loving school!!

OMG - how can it be the 1st of August already???  School starts next week for most of the kids in my city - seems to get earlier every year!!

Christmas in July - Let's Scrap Reveal

I found this awesome MME paper and it worked great with these super cute photo's of my twin nephews, every now and then they cooperate when it comes to taking pictures ;)

Happy July!!  Hard to believe we are half way thru the year!!

Let's start off the 2nd half of the year with some scrappiness...  and a fabulous sketch!!



This is such a great sketch with lots of options to make it work for you.  I had these beach pictures that worked great, even it they aren't circles, but that is the great thing about sketches, you can make them to work for you.  I also brought some stamps out to make the netting across the top.

Sketches in Thyme #281

I trust everyone is having a great start to summer and what better to celebrate summer than a new sketch and layout of my two baseball cutie nephews!!  Baseball is all about summer!!

We have a great sketch from Jenessa Franco, one of four fabulous sketch designers over at Sketches in Thyme.  This is a great sketch to use up some that scrap paper that is laying around and that is exactly what I did.



I had this great paper pack for Baseball from Paperhouse that I have been using while the twins are playing ball being on the Twins team the red and blue just works perfectly.  I had a bunch of scraps left over and was able to use them for this layout!!

I won this fabulous Eastery/Springy line from Bella Blvd last year and thought it worked great for these Easter Egg dyeing pictures - back in the day when I was kid (a long, long, time ago) all you got was basic colors for egss and maybe some stickers to add to them... now you can do all kinds of fun things when dyeing Easter eggs.

Let's Scrap Sketches June 1st reveal

Hello there... been a while since I have done any posting, but with good reason... the past few months have been some I would really like a do over and maybe I will post about that soon.. but for today I am here with a fabulous sketch from Let's Scrap Sketches!!

I mean there are so many ways you can work with this awesome sketch!!  You have double pages, break it apart for single pages, flip around, the possibilities are endless!!  I kept to the original for the most part with some minor changes.  I have been wanting to scrap these pumpkin carving sketches for a while now and this sketch worked great for the pictures I had.  This was so much fun with our family that we have decided to make it a tradition every Halloween!!

Happy March everyone!!  This week at Sketches in Thyme we are working a fabulous sketch by Sara Mischler.  I really love the versatility of this sketch there are so many options to go with.  I happened to have the perfect paper laying on my desk, from a clean up in my scrap room, that also uncovered this picture of my nephew during All Stars last ball season.

Can you believe we are already in the middle of March - this year is flying by!!
We have a fabulous sketch over at Let's Scrap Sketches starting today and it is appropriate seeing as all I have had in my area is rain the past few days.

Even though my pictures have nothing to do with rain, they worked great with the sketch - a little back story - every year we try to send out photo cards at Christmas.  This year while at the beach for Thanksgiving we happened upon these fabulous outfits and I knew that we could have EPIC christmas cards with them.  It is a good thing my sweet in-laws like to play along with our schemes - LOL

Exciting news!! Let's Scrap Sketches!!

Happy March 1st!!!  And it is blowing in like a lion - we are expecting some uber strong thunderstorms today.  

Wow, March 1st, so far this year is flying by and I have some exciting news to start the month off with....  after about a year hiatus I am happy to announce that I have been invited back to the Let's Scrap Sketches Design Team and I am super excited to be back!!  We have awesome sketches twice a month that are sure to get you scrappy mojo flowing and a chance to win some great prizes too!!

We start March off with this fabulous 2 page sketch which worked great with these slip-n-slide pictures I had of my nephews and who doesn't love a slip-n-slide on a hot summer day??





And in a effort to use some of my stash of Echo Park paper (that I secretly hoard) I thought this turned out right cute - sometimes I think a busy background takes away from the pictures but in this case it turned out just right!!

Happy February!!  I think we just skipped winter this year... as I am writing this listening to the neighbors weed eater with our back door wide open because it feels more like April here in Alabama...  I already have a case of spring fever going!!

So this week at Sketches in Thyme we have a fabulous sketch by Bev Code and while I have a case of spring fever I used this sketch for some long overdue Halloween pics I ran across of the twins/wrestlers.




These boys/wrestlers are so full of mischief, you would never know from these smiles that only a few short moments before the tears were a-flowing over having to get a picture made - LOL

Happy New Year folks!!  Let me tell you I am glad for the new start!!!

For those that didn't know, I lost my sweet sister, Annaeke, right before Christmas - it was totally unexpected but I know she is in heaven rejoicing!!  But our lives will never be the same without her around!!

I found time this past weekend at one of annual scrappy retreats to finish this layout which I absolutely adore by they way - there are just some many options you can do with this sketch!!




and yes the title is a bit of a play on words considering my name, but it was taken by me in Savannah, Ga so I reckon it just made sense!! ;)
